Band of Builders fund dream house renovation

When landscaper Addam was told that his colleague, Keith Ellick, had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given around a year to live, he wanted to do everything he could to help.

After speaking to Keith and realising he was concerned for his family, it didn’t take Addam long to get together a group of tradespeople from all disciplines, now affectionately known as the Band of Builders.

Addam is the owner of ALS fencing and landscaping, and a customer of our Lincoln branch, who donated Sorrento block paving, along with other materials such as cement.

Starting with a small but dedicated team and the support of local builders’ merchants like MKM Lincoln to supply materials, it only took a week for Keith’s family home to be transformed inside and out.

Now the build is complete, the fundraising page hopes to raise £100,000 for Keith’s family to help them to buy their house and have more security.

Addam didn’t stop there. As the Band of Brothers story spread through the national news, they have gained more support, now with over 6,500 people following the achievements on Facebook.

Addam hopes to turn Band of Builders into a fully-fledged charity and has already received a Special Recognition award from On The Tools.

It’s a fantastic and very touching cause, and the finished build looks very polished and well done. To find out more about the cause, visit the GoFundMe page.
