Galashiels Branch Helps Spread Festive Spirit

MKM’s Galashiels branch has teamed up with local radio station Radio Borders to assist with their ‘Mission Christmas – Cash for Kids’ campaign.

The annual campaign raised over £65,000 worth of cash and gifts in 2015, managing in total to support around 850 children through the Christmas period.

The campaign runs collection points for the general public to drop off gift donations for the less privileged at Christmas time. MKM Galashiels has donated a number of bulk bags to the cause, to be used at the collection points across the Borders Region. Galashiels, MKM Builders Merchants, UK. 28.Nov.2016. The whole campaign is figure-headed by the Radio Borders Bear mascot, otherwise knows as Galashiels’ own Sales Executive, Allan Chalmers!

MKM Galashiels Branch Director, Bob Hogarth, chose to support this particular cause because ‘every child should be able to open a present at Christmas time’, adding that ‘it was a simple decision to donate the bulk bags, and it runs alongside MKM’s longstanding willingness to support local charities’.

We’d like to extend a Christmas cheers to MKM Galashiels for their role in ensuring the less fortunate in the Borders region can have a Christmas to remember.
