Marathons are no easy feat. But it was a challenge that MKM Anlaby’s Graham Silburn was determined to take on as he completed the 26.2 mile Hull Marathon on Sunday 23rd September to raise money for the Candlelighters charity.
Graham raised £210, which will really make a difference to the lives of children in Yorkshire living with cancer.
We caught up with Graham afterwards to find out about his big day.
What made you want to do it?
I wanted to run the marathon to set a personal goal and to raise money for a charity which is close to our branches heart, Candle Lighters – in memory of Megan Pratt.
Did you enjoy it?
I enjoyed the training and challenge or the marathon, crossing the finish line with my friends was an amazing feeling.
Is this the first of many marathons?
I plan on continuing to run for charity, it is possible there maybe another marathon too.
A huge well done to Graham, what a great achievement!
Feeling inspired? The entries are now open for the 2019 Hull Marathon.
