The engineering skills of young people across the region have been tested by Project Blyth, set up by the Greenpower Education Trust.
The project linked teams of students with employers from across the Humberside region, and provided them with electric car kits, with the goal to build and then race the finished car.
MKM Anlaby were able to provide helmets for Team Marginal Gains from Hymers College, alongside other sponsors EYMS, Vive Le Vélo, Alphard UK and Insignia Signs & Engraving.
33 teams in total raced at the KCOM Stadium on Sunday 16th July, with speeds reaching 30 mph.
Team Marginal Gains took part in 3 races and acheived a 1st and 2nd place finish, but suffered punctures in the final race, which saw them finish in 14th place.
It was still enough to see the team through to the next stage of racing at Rockingham Speedway in October.
