MKM Hull had an exciting morning last Friday when Richard Moss from Instarmac came to our Stoneferry Road branch to give a HAPAS approved Ironwork Reinstatement demonstration. The morning started off with Hall Construction cutting out the man hole ready for the demonstration.
Then we had 24 contractors attend for a video and talk about the materials before Richard and the Instarmac team took the group outside to carry out the live demo. They started off using M60 Bedding Mortar and QC10F flowable concrete for the back fill and SCJ for the Tack coat. Richard then went on to use instant road repair as the tarmac finish dressing, and finally over banded with Instaband Eco.
The day was well attended by local contactors in the Hull area including Hall Construction, Kwl, AWS, C Spencers, MB Roche, MRM Building Contractors and Ashcourt Contracts. After the manhole was reinstated there was a question and answer session with the Instarmac team, followed by lunch and refreshments for all that attended.
Joanne Thomas of the Hull branch organised the day and said “The purpose of the day was to demonstrate the products we are selling in a real life scenario. Some of the contractors need to reinstate man holes on a regular basis but do not realise there is a product out there that can achieve the results Instarmac can. Also they did not realise they can buy Instarmac products from MKM Hull so this day was about highlighting the wide product offering MKM Hull have.”
Joanne added “Special thanks go to Mark Storr, Project Manager for Hall Construction, for supporting us by letting MKM use his machinery and operative Brian Thomas for all his hard work in demonstrating the products for us.”
