The team at MKM have been working hard since they opened to organise fundraising days, including a charity golf day, to raise funds for two local charities they’ve been supporting.
With the help of their generous customers, the golf day helped to raise £3,800, with the remainder of the monies raised through a charity trade week held at the Crewe branch, where they held raffles and took donations from suppliers and customers raising total of £2,200.
The charities of St Lukes Hospice and The Movement Centre were chosen because St Lukes does so much for so many in the local area. Working with Steven Cook, their corporate partnerships manager, to help raise these funds was privilege for the branch.
The Movement Centre is close to branch director Craig’s heart, as he’s been attending the centre for 18 months with his daughter who has Cerebral Palsy. Craig said, “During this time the physical changes attributed to the treatment program have been life changing for our daughter, and they have helped us receive additional treatment for other areas of Rosa’s disability. They truly are people who care about the children in their program, and would love to do more. It was great for us to give a little back in return.”
MKM are a fairly new local business, opening their doors on Macon Way in January. Each and every member of staff are dedicated to deliver a second to none service while being committed to give back to the local community.
It was a pleasure to have Lord Mayoress Diane Yates present the cheques to Steven Cook from St Lukes and Curtis Langley from The Movement Centre.
