MKM Glasgow helping to improve lives abroad

MKM Glasgow recently supplied 5 tool kits to ECRAD, a Scottish charity which works together with ECRAD Malawi to alleviate the suffering brought about by the HIV/Aids virus.

Since September, a Primary School in Zioya, Malawi, has been funded by ECRAD, serving a community of 1800 children from 10 villages. They also fund a daily feeding programme to give nutritious meals to orphans.

MKM Glasgow decided to donate tool kits so that ECRAD could build a canteen area for the school, affectionately called ‘Derek’s Diner’.

Peter Wood from ECRAD said “It goes without saying your tools were brilliant and we have left them to be used going forward. It’s fair to say the workers who now have the tools thought all their Christmases had come at once.”

MKM Glasgow have also sponsored Sophie Craig, who has spent 4 weeks in Cambodia this year looking after children in a village and helping the rebuild of a school.

Sophie was one of 23 pupils from Wellington School in Ayr who travelled to help build the school and be involved in an environmental protection project replanting saplings.
