Branch Director at MKM Hartlepool, Mick Sumpter, has collected two awards for his work with the charity ECHO (European Children’s Help Organisation).
Mick is a trustee of the charity, which has been helping children in Romania for 20 years.
Mick regularly travels to Romania to help out in the support centres, and on a recent trip helped to open the latest centre for children with Downs Syndrome in a town called Botosani, one of the poorer regions of the country.
While he was there, Mick collected an award from the Mayor of Iasi, Mihai Chirica. “The awards are not just for me, but the charity as a whole. it is good to see the charity get recognition for the length of time we’ve been working in Romania.”
The second award recognised a 20-year partnership with ECHO and Star of Hope International, and was presented by the group’s President, Eric Lennart Eriksson, who also helped to open the most recent centre.
Congratulations to Mick and ECHO for the well-deserved recognition.
