More good deeds have been done over in Romania by Hartlepool Branch Director, Mick Sumpter and two of his kindhearted customers Bob Moore and Lee Boyd.
The trio went there to build a much needed extension for the Chickory Street Center in the Romanian City of Lasi, who teach and look after mentally handicapped children and children with Down’s Syndrome.
Mick is a Trustee of the the charity ECHO and he has been involved with these acts of good-will since 1995. Mick commented: “The charity has been involved with all kinds of interesting projects, mainly working with vulnerable and underprivileged children in Romania and in the UK. Space was very limited at the centre and this extension will make a tremendous difference to the children and staff. I want to thank both Bob and Lee for giving up a whole week of their time for free, to work on this very worthwhile project.”
Mick plans to work on a new project in 2014, renovating an old school building, which will be used as an outdoor education centre.
