We’re super pleased to announce that MKM has been highly commended in the Excellence in Marketing Award at the Timber Trade Journal Awards for our 2017 Joinery campaign. Despite narrowly missing out on the win, we’re proud to have been the only category to have a Highly Commended category at the awards, which took place at the InterContinental Park Lane on Friday 21st September, as the judges felt that the campaign deserved recognising.
The multi-channel campaign championed joinery, the often unsung hero of many a renovation and involved a two phase approach. The first phase ensured every branch team had the insight, knowledge and capability to promote the new joinery offering through a dedicated suite of literature, an internal email newsletter and a toolkit of social and online assets for branches to use on their own channels. The campaign was then rolled out to consumers across all channels including emails, flyers, invoice messaging, social media activity, the online blog and print advertising in the trade press. Additionally branches hosted breakfast mornings with their customers and specialist joinery ‘showrooms’ were developed to increase visibility of joinery in branches. The results showed an increase in sales across the category- a good job all round!
The TTJ Awards recognise the best of the best in the Timber industry, from suppliers to merchants and individuals, including one of our own Perry Sands, who was shortlisted for the Career Development Over 25s Award which acknowledges achievement in training and skills development in the timber industry. Despite being beaten at the post for the win, we’re super proud of Perry and his achievements at the MKM Kings Lynn branch.
A great well done to all of the MKM staff that were involved in the campaign, we’re excited for more to come in the future!
