MKM Perth helped to smash a world record at the annual Perth Kilt Run. Staff and customers took part in this year’s 5K run in a bid to break the current world record for the amount of runners participating.
The organisers of the Scottish Perth race are jubilant that the existing world record, set by Canadian twin city Perth in Ontario, has been smashed with over 1,300 valiant kilted runners breaking the official record for Scotland. The 5K race was routed in and around the beautiful North Inch Parklands in the heart of the city and was open to all age groups. Alan Patterson, Branch Director was extremely proud of his team members for participating in such a worthy stunt, “It was a fantastic day out for us all and for such a deserving cause. I’m so proud to be a record breaker! Well done everyone, we are looking forward to next year’s event already.”
The MKM team managed to raise a whopping £3,356 for their local charity, Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance. The cheque was presented to them at a ceremony in early November. SCAA rely solely on charitable donations and self-funding to survive, they don’t receive any government funding, and with them coming into their first Winter, they need every penny to ensure their operations run smoothly.
Alan Patterson, Branch Director said: “This money is a vital lifeline for the organisation and for Scotland. It was a real pleasure to hand this over to them and we look forward to raising more for them in the future.”
