MKM Buildings Supplies has invested £50,000 in creating a new, specialist kitchen and bathroom showroom at its Stockton branch.
The showroom, which was completed last month, displays a wide range of products including classic and contemporary bathrooms and kitchens.
Joint branch director Dave Cook said the showroom exclusively displays kitchens from Yorkshire-based manufacturer Symphony Group which are built to the highest quality.
He said: “The new showroom is already causing a stir among our core customer base, which comprises of local builders, plumbers and kitchen installers, because it provides them with a greater choice when fitting out new houses, or houses they are renovating or updating on behalf of their clients.
“But we’ve also had quite a few retail customers come in who are looking to install a new kitchen and see us an alternative to major, high street kitchen or bathroom outlets.
“One of the main reasons we decided to invest heavily in creating the showroom is to help us grow our share of the retail market in Stockton and surrounding areas. We are confident that with it now up and running, it will help us to do just that.”
To celebrate the launch of the new showroom MKM Stockton threw a party on July 23rd which was attended by more than 100 customers and suppliers to the company, featuring local X-Factor contestant Kerrianne Covell and her band.
Fellow joint branch director Jason Horner said: “The party was a fantastic success and all those who attended seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. It also gave us chance to show off the new kitchen showroom and everyone who looked round it was impressed. We used the local company Blackwells of Norton for the catering who did a fantastic job of satisfying our customers”
MKM Building Supplies is UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant and is headquartered in Hull. It has a total of 42 branches across the UK with plans for more.
