Telford’s popular Let’s Go Quackers art trail project is now putting smiles on the faces of young patients at the town’s Princess Royal Hospital with the unveiling of a new mural.
The original trail, made up of a collection of ten giant painted ducks brought tens of thousands of people out in Ironbridge and Southwater earlier this year. One of the ducks featured at the MKM Telford branch.
As a spin-off, the organisers have now created a lasting artwork featuring a painting of the Dr Duck display as a gift to the children’s unit where it has pride of place on the corridor wall. It was unveiled at a special event at the hospital on Tuesday.
MKM Telford were delighted to be a major partner in sponsoring the mural. Guests at the unveiling ceremony included the borough’s mayor Councillor Raj Mehta and representatives from mural sponsor Telford-based building supplier MKM. Other sponsors are Telford based Runtime UK which donated the plaque and varnish supplier Urban Hygiene Ltd, of Doncaster.
In total MKM Telford, raised £2500 for the Severn hospice and The Jane Sargent Foundation. A fantastic accomplishment, going to two great charities.
