With guidance on the application of torch-on products changing, it’s important for roofing contractors to be aware of and fully understand the implications of these changes.
The guidance from the NFRC towards torch-on products has paved the way for alternative roofing products like IKO Easyseal, a product range IKO will be demonstrating at a number of MKM Building Supplies branches across the country in November (12.11 – 16.11).
With a flame-free application and full instructions provided, only basic skills and tools are required for a professional finish. The five high-performance membranes are suitable for use on both small roofs (garages, porches, extensions, etc.) and larger commercial projects.
While the Safe2Torch campaign only offers guidance at this stage, the NFRC checklist, a document which outlines where and when a torch-on method of application can and can’t be applied, is a recommendation for best practice. The Safe2Torch campaign aims to significantly reduce the risk of roof fires and a simple way of achieving this is by using IKO Easyseal.
For a hands-on experience, the popular range will be demonstrated at a select number of MKM branches in the week commencing 12 November. IKO Easyseal has been specifically developed to make flat roofing more straightforward and economical – you won’t need specialist skills or fancy equipment to use IKO Easyseal.
The product is clean and easy to handle – the backing simply strips away to provide a guaranteed bond. What’s more, the IKO Easyseal Pro Cap Sheet uses IKO Prevent Graphite Fire Wall Technology with self-extinguishing properties, reducing the chances of a roof fire.
