What is a steam oven?
Steam ovens allow you to cook dishes which are full of flavour, whilst also retaining the nutrients of the ingredients. They also work wonderfully at enhancing the texture of your food and preventing them from drying out.
Steam cooking is also speedier than cooking in a conventional oven, particularly with larger dishes or batch cooking.
How does a steam oven work?
NEFF have two varieties of single steam oven: Full Steam and Vario Steam. Both ovens give you the versatility to cook with or without steam depending on your choice of dish. And, to top it off? There is no need for additional plumbing to generate steam, as both ovens come with easy to refill water containers.
A fully functioning oven and steamer in one, our Full Steam ovens give you the option to cook with either Vario Steam or 100% pure steam.
Full Steam works by requesting fresh water as cooking commences. The steam generator will then create steam outside the cavity, to avoid scaling, which is circulated via the rear vents. Our CircoTherm® hot air system circulated the air evenly ensuring the steam surrounds the food at all times.
Contrary to popular belief, our Full Steam oven is easy to operate and the one-litre water container is simple to refill.
Vario Steam gives you the option to add steam at three intensity levels so you get just the right amount of moisture for delicious results when baking, roasting or reheating.
The Vario Steam function works by adding the desired amount of steam through ducts in the back plate during CircoTherm®, top and bottom heat, bread baking and grilling modes. You can select pre-set programmes to provide a moist cooking environment, helping to achieve perfect textures, such as crisp on the outside and succulent in the middle.
