Your Kind of Kitchen – The hottest kitchen trends for 2019

Trends aren’t just for the catwalk, there’s plenty we can do to make sure our home is keeping up with the latest fashions and we’re going to cover off what our leading suppliers, designers and in-branch experts are tipping as the biggest kitchen must-haves for 2019.

Be bold!

We’re leaving behind a lot of the minimal whites and creams and expecting a huge surge in bold, deep hues for 2019. This means deep blues, greys and those natural, earthy wood tones. We know taking the leap to invest in a deep colour can seem daunting, but with the right accessories and planning, those darker colours can help create a stunning and classy look which will more than endure the test of time. Coupled with complementary flooring and walls, this is a great way to make a statement and draw attention to key workspaces such as islands and breakfast bars.

Magic metallics

Copper is here to stay. If you haven’t yet given in to the charm of some copper touches in your home, your kitchen could present the perfect opportunity. Of course, you can start small with utensils and storage, but our designers can help you make a feature of some metallic magic.

Our range promises some beautiful sinks, taps, handles and trims to help you capture the charm of copper in your dream kitchen. The great thing about this trend is that it can be paired beautifully with both dark and light colour schemes; think as an accent to midnight blue or greys, as well as helping to bring a pop of colour to light or white kitchens.

In with the old and new…

One of the most interesting trends for 2019 is the blurring of the lines between the traditional and the modern. Essentially, you can have your cake and eat it now! Combine your favourite traditional and contemporary styles; the perfect example of which can be found in our stunning Savoy range. This shaker style door complete with an integrated handle allows you to bring a stylish twist to a popular, more traditional kitchen type. The Savoy is unique to Omega, manufacturers of Mackintosh Kitchens.

Can you handle it?

Handless is another trend that is here to stay. We’re waving goodbye to the popular J-pull handle (not entirely, don’t panic!) with the latest innovation in handleless kitchen design. We’re taking handleless to the next level in 2019 with oblique doors from Mackintosh Kitchens. These doors have a chamfered edge on the reverse side to give a sleek and sophisticated look and the chamfer is deep enough to allow enough grip to open units such as integrated appliances and larder pull-out units. If you’re seeking some cleaner lines, this could be the trend you’ve been waiting for!

Just a splash..

We’re rounding off our top trends with a bit of colour. We’ve seen a rise in the popularity two-toned kitchen cabinets as we all seek to bring as much personality to our kitchens as we do our other favourite rooms. Contrasting colours can give the illusion of light and space, even in the smallest of kitchens. Adding a second colour to your design creates a focal point, which can be anything from the island or a selection of some wall units. You can also mix different materials such as wood, if you prefer not to contrast colour. Mackintosh Kitchens have 14 on-trend colours available across 12 different door styles.

We have all the expertise in-branch to help you craft the perfect kitchen design. With leading suppliers, knowledgeable designers and all the elements you need to maximise these must-have trends, book a consultation now to make 2019 the year of your dream kitchen.
